Christchurch Shooting 2019

Two consecutive terrorist attacks were carried out on 15th March 2019 in New Zealand during Friday prayer at two mosques. The attacks began at the Al Noor Mosque at 1.40 pm and progressed to Linwook Islamic Centre at 1.55 pm. The perpetrator Brenton Tarrant, a 28-year-old from Australia, live-streamed the first 17-minute attack on Facebook, which before being taken off the platform, amassed over 4,000 views. The shooter was welcomed into the Mosque by a worshiper saying 'Hello, brother'. He was the first of over 50 victims in the attacks. The age of the victims ranged from 3 to 77 years old. Tarrant was charged with 51 murders and 40 attempted murders, and engaging in a terrorist act.
